    Coolant temp sensor

    Hi all

    Need a coolant temp sensor for a 14A?

    I think T.J's breaking an S14, probably have one there. Or try Patrickg273 down in Wexford, he picked up a VVT inlet manifold from me recently which probably has a sensor stuck in it, I don't think he's using those particular parts for his build but just to get an idea of space requirements.

    its the one on the thermostat housing i need.The other one is for the temp gauge.TJ is checking to see if he has one

    There are two that sit side-by-side in the plenum from memory: one's brassy/metally & small with a non-clip-type fitting on it, the other's blue & can be a Mazda part number IIRC with a clip-type fitting on it. Either of those?

    its on pg151 of the manual.i believe its the small one with multiple wires.

    So it's the upper one in that pic? Not the (lower) thermal transmitter?

    They're not that expensive. Just get brand new one from a factor.

    They do tend to stop working when an engine is left without coolant in it for any length of time (e.g. during a rebuild).

    i thought they'd be cheap too but turns out they aint not sure if it even is the problem.just getting flooding everytime i do a warm start after half an hour.trying to rule stuff out

    always been there since i started modifying it.thought it was the map but stiv checked it 3 times since and says its fuelling right.

    Get a multimeter on the ETS then. It tells you how in the manual.

    When the ETS fails, it usually means the car will run well when cold but then run extremely rich once warm.
