    My S14 - Winter Overhaul

    Hi Guys,

About time I created a build thread so here goes!

First of a bit of history about the car up until now.

I bought this car about 4 years ago and at first was just happy to have rear wheel drive and power, espcially as i was only 20. It wasn't long until the modifying started though.

    As it started

Springs/wheels/exhaust were the first additions and i was happy for a while

I then started with a few body mods and coilovers, looks so much better lower!

    JDM rear bumper was next

I then changed my wheels for some Tri-Force Zeldas

I changed my job and had to get another car so it sat of the road for a while as i had to use another (more economical) car and couldn't afford to run both. At this point i thought as it was off the road i would do some more work on the car.

First up was a black boot

Next i decided the S14 wasn't wide enough so got my self wide arches all round.

Shiney engine parts went on at the same time

Then i got back to the bodywork

    Wings fitted

    Bumper smoothing

    Bumper smoothed and sprayed

    Carbon bonnet goes on =)

    Rear fender fitting process

    The finished article!

    More to come!

Always had a soft spot for your car, nice to see how it first looked compared to now. you found any joy in getting any do-lucks for the rear yet?

A few pics of how she sits now,

    Few changes;

    - Lower
    - Work Equips have replaced the Vielsides
    - Standard spoiler back on
    - Roof spoiler

    OK, so now were up to date, next up is a full winter overhaul comprising of;

    - Full rust treatment including welding and fully under sealing the underside.
    - Full body Respray
    - Engine bay smoothed/cleaned up and sprayed
    - All alignment arms of inc subframe for cleaning and re painting

A few mates are also planning winter projects so we thought we would find a unit to work in.

We managed to find a decent sized one at a reasonable price and good location.

We built a bench/racking and some over head storage to start.

    Then painted the floor

Got two of the cars in

Followed by another two and a motorbike!

This is where the fun begins......

    Front wings/bumper and bonnet off

Today's efforts went into cutting the original bodywork even higher at the rear.

These will be fully welded up and painted

In fact I had a mate spray the fenders for me with a spray gun. They came out worse than if I had used rattle cans so I went to work with the wet and dry to cut them back!

Brown s body's ftw. Very brave colour to paint a car but if the car can pull it off they look epic.

Whooaaaa! This looks really sweet but will look so hard when you get it resprayed. You'll easily pull that brown colour off

    What specs are the Equips?

    Some progress from this week.

Cut out the passenger side arch

Also started on the engine bay.

So far I have removed the ABS unit/lines.

The battery, washer bottle and fuse box which are all to be relocated. The idea is to keep the bay clean, neat and tidy.

Fuse box, battery and washer bottle gone

The loom from the fuse box

    ABS unit out

How the bay looks now, less the items above.

    The plan for the bay is;

    - Remove all ancillaries
    - Treat any rust I can find on the bodywork
    - Clean and respray.
    - All metalwork to be polished
    - Polished plenum to be purchased
    - Wires/pipes to be hidden as well as possible
    - Bolts/fixings to be replaced

That's it for now, more after the weekend
