It can be tricky, but takes a few goes. Try and do it from underneath. Be very careful that the banjo has gone in straight as it is very easy to cross-thread the oil feed on the block. Also make sure you don't overtighten it!

If you have go the non siviley type braided hoses like mine, twist the end to get the right angle so it sits flat on the block then put the banjo through.

It's hard to explain what I mean, mine are the cheaper Apex ones. See what sort of angle the banjo goes in at, the fit the banjo through the hose with washers on, press lightly against block so washer doesn't fall off, then swivel/twist the hose until you have the right angle, rotate banjo anti-clockwise till you feel it slightly click then tighten clockwise. Done it about a million times now.

To put it in otherwords, just **** about with it

It can be a pain in the arse but just be patient. I lost my rag on a number of times the first time I it which really didn't help . Seem to be able to do it within a few mins every time I attempt it now though

Put the bolt in on its own to get an idea of what sort of alignment the banjo has the be in. Remember that, take the bolt out and try to align the banjo and bolt up properly . That's basically what I do, can be a PITA though.
