I spent the day detailing this lovely Boxter-S today, owned by an SXOC member
The car is in great condition with just a few light stone chips on the front as expected and a couple of light scratches, but lots of swirls and as the car is often parked under a tree lots of bonded contaminants and also a lot of tar on the lower panels, especially behind the wheels and on the rear bumper.
Here's the car when I got there. On the whole it doesn't look too bad:
But looking closer you can see the paint has lost its luster:
And closer still, lots of bonded contaminants and swirls:
Wheels were not too bad other than brake dust:
Likewise the calipers:
I wasn't able to get any decent shots of the swirls but they were quite bad:
So the car was washed, de-tared, clayed and dried, then the hood was cleaned and protected:
And then masked up ready for paint correction:
The paint was hard as expected, the swirls were removed with Menzerna Fast Gloss S500 and a 3M Polishing pad, then refined with Menzerna Menzerna Super Finish PO106FA on a 3M finishing pad. Then the paint was glazed with Poorboys Blackhole applied by rotary and lastly waxed with Dodo Juice Supernatural. The end result was this:
