I kept cutting until most of the rot had been removed.

The front end of the sill.

Here is all the metal I cut out from one side, the other side was the same!

The clean began by clearing as much surface rust that was left with wire brushes in a drill and then if needed with Bilt Hambers Deox Gel and then painted with Hydrate 80 rust treatment and then finally painted with their Electrox primer.

New sections where made up to replace everything that had been cut out.

I then made some new outer sills up and welded it all back up.

And that is it. It took a long time and took a lot of work but it was worth it.

I hope the little write helps to see how I sorted it.

    A small update.

Been rubbing down the centre console tonight, slowly getting it ready for powder coating. I need to cut out for the switch panel, hand brake and the gear lever and then make the switch panel.

    A few pics.

Got my old car back to my house and in the garage yesterday. I must say a big thank you to Jankes for sorting me out with his trailer and helping me transport the car.

It's looking a bit sad for it self these days. Used to to be like this,

    But looked like this yesterday

    Now in my garage.

The strip down can now start again. I'm going to remove everything that is left on it and then I'm going to pick the shell apart and remove any panels/ body parts that may be of use to me either as patterns to make repair panels or as replacement panels.

I wish I did it hits badly

    I didn't know you had 2 s14s

Yep I checked the position. Its close but it goes in. I changed the design a few times to make sure it goes in. Im going to be using a modified steering column too with different mountings than usual so that will give me a bit of scope with the position. Another thing that helps is my seat position. My seats are positioned as far back as pos so the pedal box is a little further away from the bulkhead than the standard pedals which gives a little more clearance.

    Soon to be one s14

My S14 Reshell/rufurb/rebuild. Major project so will take a long time.

I've not had a lot of time on the car for the last few weeks due to being busy making sills and being busy at home.

I've spent a few hours getting the wiring out of the old car. I started at the back and have worked forward. I'm at the dash and started on that tonight. I need to take the dash out now but that is proving a right PITA!

I thought I'd start cleaning bits up for powder coating so started with the throttle body. Sprayed it with frosts aluclean (thank you Petrol), gave it a scrub and all the oxide has come off. :-)

I've brought a few bits too recently, not a lot but bits keeping coming in. First a new clutch.

Brought for a bargain price if £100. It's brand new and never been used. I need to get a fly wheel to go with it.

Also got a few bits from GKTec. A new CAS cover and one of their throttle cable pulleys.

    Small update.

As usual I've not had any time to work on the shell at work(that's soon to change for
a while). I have been stripper the old car a bit more though.

I've finally got the dash off.

Taking the dash off was one of the biggest pain in the arse jobs I've done on a car. It totally did my head in.

I've stripped most of the wiring etc from behind the dash now and will hopefully get the rest out this week.

All the interior and most of the wiring is out of the old shell.

Just got the wiring that goes to the fuse box in the engine bay to remove, then the glass and then it's time to cut it up.
