Has anyone imported a car under the IVA scheme?

    Hi All,

They stopped doing ESVA/SVA on the 29th April so I was wondering if anyone had brought a car in under the new scheme yet? Or worked for DVLA/VOSA and could post up a link explaining costs and what actually gets tested. I had a look on the DVLA website and all the info about costs and what gets tested related to the SVA/ESVA

I've already got a car on the way, plan was to totally strip it and abuse it at Knockhill and Crail since it was cheapy-cheap.
However if the IVA thing is not that bad to get through I'm thinking of getting it road legal as the interior looks too mint to bin.

apparently it costs like a grand for an iva test (there is only a few in the whole of the UK) and the car has to be completely standard, they are riddiculously picky. If it doesn't pass you have to pay another grand and so on. I don't know if anyone can clarify this? this is what i was told when i shipped mine but luckily because of the 10 year rule i only needed a mot

A grand is a bit much not really worth it if it is.

It's a completely standard S15 na auto. The importer sent me a few pics yesterday and seeing how new looking the interior was I've had a bit of a wobble about stripping it out.

Standard too, so it shouldn't have problems going through emissions and getting registered and road legal if the IVA test was cheap enough.....then the fun starts

I dont know about imports but "radically" altered vehicles that go through the IVA costs around £500. An s15 should be able to pass being standard but a standard s13 wouldnt.
