Back with me, and being gentle with it still. I'm not going to get enough miles on it before Sunday though

no worries mate. take it easy, will have to arrange another for when your run in
Oh dear Jon. You must be really attached to that car to keep spending on it. I'll have to find time to pick up that exhaust bracket.
More action.
1000miles after new big end bearings, oil change. Oil out, oil in. Easy.
How the hell do you undo an oil filter that was fitted by someone who isn't me ?
There are threads in TechS14 on this subject. I'll have to read them.
I usually just stick my arm into the little gap and unscrew it. No joy today. Tools beyond marigolds needed.
And, AND, winter tyres have been removed from the rear and replaced with summer tyres. It's late August. It just seemed the sensible thing to do.

Well done on the tyres
Just man up for the filter
Activity frenzy again.
New winter tyres were fitted in November. I might have mentioned that elsewhere on the forum.
Today I got fully stickered up ready for the Nurburgring trip.
If i survive, i can pick the 'never' bit off afterwards
A minor update:
I touched the screwdriver to the filter , aimed the hammer, and decided if I tore the end off the filter leaving the threaded base behind, it would be bad. So took the car round to Matt in Featherstone, and he removed it for me. Must have stronger wrists than me
Anglesey trackday is Saturday coming, so today has seen my five year old brake fluid replaced with shiny bling DoT5.1. Pedal doesn't feel any better though.
I have no decent rear pads today, so when I get some, I'll be back to Matt during this week to get them fitted and the rear brake slider pins degummified. Rear pads are wearing unevenly at the mo but the calipers themselves were new Dec2009.
Front Ferodo DS2500 (used by me before) are now refitted in place of my daily weetabix pads.
When tidying up I saw a butterfly sat on my steps drying its wings out. Looked newly hatched. I'm no butterfly expert but it's the first one I've noticed this year and it was quite pretty
and earlier in the thread showed my autumn2008 repairs to the car's sills. Tested them today, they're solid
is this your project thread haha im back now anyway so just give me a shout as and when you need it doing

Will do
Tomorrow is going to be busy day with two momentus occasions.
First will be the Leeds karting, which is going to knacker me out to an extent which might make me miss the second, which should happen on the way home.
Taking a pic tomorrow will be difficult in the dark (and my damn camera insists on focusing on the clear perspex instead of the dial ) so I'm dropping this pic in now in case I miss the moment.
yey
Got it
Yay Good going Jon, quarter of a million coming up
You popped out for a wee bimble then
There's no glam pics to post up yet, but if I post something in here, it might force me to actually do something.
Poor car has been neglected , but as the evenings get lighter, it might get some caring attention.
After two house moves, I have located both mudflaps, and now know exactly where both of them are.
More bimbles planned for this year.
200,000 felt like a big deal at the time, but quickly racked up to 218,000 and then the dash stopped counting.Originally Posted by s14@jim
That was about a year ago, so maybe 230,000ish now but still shows 218,000.
Posting this is basically kicking myself up the arse to tidy and fix the car up. Some activity should follow.
Tell me you put the fresh wings on.... please...
