    Hi oilman,

    Currently running a s13 ca18det stage 2
Only drive it in summer and only about 3000 miles per year
Car is driven on road with the occasional hard driving but no track

I was considering buying your fuchs titan supersyn 5w 40 or would I be better with 10w 40?

    thanks Gordon

    Hi Gordon

    I'd probably go for a synthetic 10w-40 or 10w-50.

    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx
    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Fuchs Pro S, Motul 300V, Red Line and Millers CFS/CFS NT. The Fuchs Unimax Ultra is a good cheaper option.

    Cheers

    Hi

I would say a good 5w-40 would probably be the way to go, unless you are getting high (over 125C) oil temps, then a 10w-50 is the best choice.

    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx
    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS Nanodrive, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition.

    Cheers

    Hi

The offer prices are to everyone, you can only use one discount code per offer, so there is no extra discount on top of the offers.

Any idea how hot the oil is getting in the Chevy engine?

    Cheers

Nice one. As for temps, he reckons between 100 and 120.

    Hi

If it's only getting to 120C, I would think that a quality 5w-40 or 10w-40 would be the best option, although that does depend on fuel dilution,, oil pressure and oil consumption.

    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx
    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition.

    Cheers

    Make nissan
    Model 200sx
    Year 1996
    Engine Size 2.0
    Engine Type SR20DET
    Mods stage 1a/2 (300 bhp)
Type of driving Drift & road

Basically gets drifted a fair bit and driven on weekends.

Have looked into it myself, would say with winter approaching 5w/ would be good for cold starts and probably /50 would be good for handling those hot temperatures from drift.

Can't see any 5w/50 Fuchs Titan Pro on the site but maybe I'm being blind. Perhaps 10w/50 Titan Pro? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1145-sil...e-engines.aspx

Currently use Genuine Nissan Oil 10w/40 Semi-Synth and feel like it could use something a bit tastier.

Yep, I would go with the 10w-50. Very well proven oil and among the best you can buy.

The reason you do not see many 5w-50 oils is because the viscosity gap is so large it has to be propped up with viscosity index improver and these are a consumable in an oil. So, they are prone to shearing down.

    Cheers
