Just an update on this, my battery was fried, it just took a day to die. It was completely flat and when I attached it to the charger, the charger read full, which was random. I managed to order a...
Don't worry, all fixed. The negative battery terminal fell off as well, I don't know if the spark blew it off. Jumped it and tested voltage. All seems to be good.
Seriously, what are the chances of this happening... it did to me tonight. Car is on my driveway (fortunately), but I have no electrics whatsoever.
Any ideas what I have to do to fix it, is there...
Yeah, service manual will tell you about the fork, it's quite straight forward. Putting the new release bearing in the holder is harder. I drove the old one out using a socket just the right size...
Hopefully getting my MOT tomorrow and the car back on the road, so thought I'd adjust the clutch pedal. I have a slight problem. The adjusting nut is all the way out and I only have about 16cm of...
My girlfriend wants to move into my place with her cat, but I have a 6 month old white leather sofa that cost more than my car. We're having such a row over it. I've said the cat can't come. She's...

Thanks for all the help and pointers. So if I adjust the clutch getting rid off all pedal free play, the release bearing will grind on the clutch cover. I'll make sure I don't do that then.
All...
I'd also check my timing, sounds like it could be retarded.
Don't worry about the details, found this, might be useful for someone.

Why do you have to do this? Could this be why my old...
I've never adjusted it before, didn't know you could. Any tips on how best to do this and where from?
If I was a girl I'd have your babies :sxoc:

Slave cylinder now sits a little further back like it's meant to, pedal doesn't feel spongy and I can change gear. You just...
Slave cylinder to me looks like it may have popped out, come to think of it, it looks like it has a leak and all:

My only concern...
Oh I hope you're right. The slave looks a bit long actually. Hang on a second, I'll get a picture!
Please let it be that! I'm currently in a state of shock tidying my garage and sanding my...
Just finished my second clutch change in the car's ownership. Thought the clutch felt spongy at the bottom, so started my engine to see if I could change gear. It won't go into any gear with the...
Really, can you not just give it a gentle rub down with emery paper as the manual suggests?
Crank oil seal now all changed, so I was intending on putting everything back up now.
Any tips on...
Sorry it took so long, I've not had a chance to work on the car in the week. Just got the flywheel off etc.
Here's the pics. Just changing the rear crank oil seal now, so will be putting...
Ah ok, well if there was one dodgy bit about the whole clutch system it was the clutch release bearing, it seemed to have some grit in it, which you could hear at idle. I'm not sure how I would go...
I'm just getting my car back on the road and am in the process of changing my clutch. I thought I'd check if you have any idea why it was slipping. The clutch used to let go at 4k rpm. My car is a...
Just adding a useful tip to an old thread as others may benefit. I pulled my box off yesterday for a clutch swap. I couldn't remember how heavy it was, so placed a plank of wood down the length of...

I'd rather have flies than cats, cat's are attracted to my black cars, I think because they're warm. One took a dump on my micra's bonnet last summer :censored:
Well, I think I may just make you change your mind. Who wouldn't want Elton John draped over their bonnet? :ghey:

Looks like the oil seals in your turbo. When mine did this I swapped the turbo as I got another t25 for £50. Can also get them reconditioned, depending on what you can get done cheaper.
Does it...
