Is the easiest way of draining it just to syphon it out of the filler...
Sounds like an earthing problem... does the oil pressure gauge move when you switch lights, heater on etc ?
Did you use PTFE tape between the senders and the sandwich plate ?

It's behind the radiator, so you will probably have to remove (or at least be able to move) the rad to get it out.
