View Full Version : Getting scratches/chips out of aluminium?

What do you guys reckon? Ive tried brasso and it didnt really do much, i dont want it perfect just want to get it looking a bit better. I think their too deep for polish stuff, and wet and dry may be the answer, but it needs to polish up as good as the rest of it. Not sure what i can do really :confused:

Wet or dry, used wet. Start with rough to medium and work down to fine finishing off with a good metal polish. Peek is good as is autosolve

And it will deffo go to a mirror finish yea? Don want to try it on my £600 amp to find out it dont :cry: Will try it on the back first tho! :wack:

If you put the effort in it'll look as good as you want it too.
Wont be easy, I spent a fair few hours getting my INSANE badge just so, but it looks cool now tho, just gotta get it on the car :thumbs:

I 2nd this method, I've lapped many PC heatsinks (Copper or Aluminium) and this is the best way to get them smoooooth.

I know the feeling, i started doing my rocker cover, a whole night later and its still not finished, think im gonna spray it now anyway as i cant be arsed to get it perfect :furious:

I used the Wet & Dry on the Polished lip on my old alloys... if you put enough time and effort in the finish is amazing :)
