Got hacked off with Wanadoo and have signed up for a pay as you go from Virgin, to check if it is my line/equipment or the wanadoo service.

Connected, first time. And my god is it quick!!!

If it is still like this on Mondya, I'll be changing over full time to virgin... A connectio ntat actually transmits as 40+k, rather than at 800 bpm :(

im surprised that you got such poor linespeed from Wannado/freeserve, when i was with them they were always adding new numbers when the lines started to get congested.... are you sure you had the most suitable number?

Freeserve was certainly the better of the mainstream providers....

but now Freedon2surf Broadband - totally ace service :D

I mostly get chucked off after about 10 mins - even at 3am..

Just for the purpose, this afternoon's connection is OK, but usually takes me about 5/6 attempts to both get conencted and to get data flowing down the line.

My record so far is 1kb in 5 (yes, 5) mins...

looks like it could be my wires.... Wannadoo wouldn't work so I tried the Virgin dial up and that couldn't even connect.

I live in a shit area
