After over 6 months of owning her, and seeing her for just 2 :censored: days at the beginning, I am really feeling like giving up on the Mustang  We would loose a shed load of money (over £10,000 at least) and my dream car would be gone    I am just so tired of her sitting up there and nothing getting done. I know it is not all their fault (shippers fecked up twice and didn't send the parts, and a mechanic has 2 days off and doesn't come back :annoyed: ) We can't do the work ourselves, even though I would love to try :D

I know I am not the only person who has had to wait a long time for their car to get back on the road so can someone reasure me it is worth the wait? :(

For a mustang I would wait a lot longer than 6 months  as long as I could go and gazze at it every now and again.

Thanks guys, I know you are right (I would really regret it), but sometimes I just want to give up and move on. It is so disappointing when you hope for the phone to ring each day to say they have started and it doesn't

I swear I am going to learn how to weld, then I can do things myself

Yeah, keep at it. Just think of when you can plant the throttle into the (hopefully not) cheetah coloured carpet and hear the beasty roar :)

The carpets are new, as are underlay, headlining, seats, dash, and pretty much everything else. The only body panels that aren't changing is the roof and rear quarters :D Even some of the chassis is being replaced (it was that rotten :( ) Gonna have a pretty much new car at the end of all this :D

It is just so bloody frustrating. Because I didn't go straight to another car, I am still missing my S13 after 17 weeks    especially when Andy comes home and says "saw your old car. Looks really shiney"

Is the body shop messing you about?

If so, get it away from them, one month is long enough, for most things to happen, sorry I've worked in the trade and know what its like some things get left till next week - months go by - its allways next week.

Sound about right?

Not quite. The problems haven't been all theirs. One of the partners had to go over to Dallas twice because the parts (which were in the back of their trucks) didn't get shipped. They were furious when we spoke to them and are now not charging us any shipping which is saving us a lot. Then when the parts finally arrived, one of the mechanics took a couple of days off (they were planning on starting her on the next Monday) and he never returned. They still haven't filled his position.
The problem is that once she goes in and on the ramp, she won't come off again (apart from going to be sprayed) until she is finished. If I bring her home (which I have been tempted to do sooooooooo many times) I am not going to find anyone to do the work quickly and also do the conversion. They are american specialists and will do it all. I won't put up with it for much longer. The last word was that the boss himself was going to start this week. If he doesn't then :whip:

Also I forgot to say at the top of this thread: I HAVE NO PATIENCE

She arrived here on the 19th Dec and they took her on the 22nd Dec  Been sat up there since then.
I really don't have a lot of option but to wait for them. :(

What are they doing?

I'm trying to keep on the topic, but having been there, seen it, done it - trying to get a fix on what there about.

All we know and have been told I wrote above :( But out of interest, will I have any problems with the engine sitting unstarted for so long?

As long as their place is dry, should not really be a problem, I take it did run before they got it?

Yip, know what you mean, Even tho the 200 (with V8) is noisy, sounds the biz when it runs

5.5 months waiting for a job that should have taken a week. Blew up 5 hours later...
Ahem.

I'm sure your Stang won't do that, lets face it, you've had enough work done on it by ppl who know what they are doing...
