See Toys-R-US are selling the Driver game (brilliant!!) with a FREE Play On 2.1 Sound System ..anyone tried the sound system. The sound system only sells for £15 seperately ....so would not think it would be much good ??

I loved the first two - I don't nkow if we'd have got GTA3 without Driver :cry:
Got it yestertday, apart from dodgy connectors (have to almost hammer them in) the speakers are actually pretty good, especially for a freebie
The game itself is ok, no where in GTA : Vice City's league but enjoyable enough. Not very polished.....for example, walked into a building only to disappear through the floor :eek: That's just sloppy !
5 out of 10 from me, not a bad effort but not any realy improvement over the original !
I was going to buy it this week, but think I'll give it a miss now. Developers are far too keen to get their games out early these days! pah! I remember the days when all these boards were trees!

There's one developer that doesnt work with the mantra... when the fudge are we going to get Half Life 2!!
I have it, I enjoy it.
Not the same type of game as GTA, but i think too much budget on stars and not enough on development.... has crashed a couple of times, but i really do love it!

Doom III out August 3rd (better be) so that'll ease the pain until Half-Life 2 :annoyed:

well I am not computer expert but I got it and I am VERY fussy with my games and me and my brother could not put it down. Graphics a excellent in my opinion, just shoot a car tyre out and watch as the car drops on its suspension....brilliant!!.....We just played the Free ride all night. Yeah there may be bugs but what games dont have them these days, if a game puts a smile on my face and is not so frustrating as have me throw it out the window...then its GOOD!!
I personnaly prefer it to GTA......

Well, if you enjoy it then it's a good game. I think generally the masses would mostly disagree though but then it's all down to personal taste. I like to play minesweeper sometimes :wack:

True....would be boring world if we all like the same
when the fudge are we going to get Half Life 2!!
Thier source code got stolen mate so launch date was set right back until they have finished rebuilding the code/game.

Theres no better 'car chase sim' out there for the PS2 at the moment IMO. The adrenaline really starts going when you're barreling along at top speed through oncoming traffic.. someting that GTA could never quite get right. I personally think they should never have included 'on foot missions' in Driver 3, but it still holds up on the car sections alone.

tbh i think that was more an "oooh now we have a great excuse to delay launch for a year and fix all those bugs we were going to ship the game with"
not to mention all the apparently scripted events that got highlighted by people that got their hands on the code
dont see many companies delaying a game cos a gold disk gets leaked do you
that said the ingame footage from e3 did look breathtaking :notworthy so the delay should be worth it
i believe it is now also scheduled for a summer release
now if you want to talk about delays, duke nukem forever (in development)
seems like its got to the vaporware point of no one caring about it anymore lol

lol, DNF will never appear. HL2 is said to be coming out during summer but will probably be released just after. The source code was stolen and arrests have been made, they had no intention of releasing last august as the source code was in no state to be released. Unreal 3 makes doom 3 and Half-life 2 look very old indeed. Check this out :eek:

I'm waiting for GTA4 and GT4 - although was highly dis-appointed with the demo! no multiplayer! bah!
Can't wait for Doom and Half Life 2.
I get broadband in my area on August 4th....so I'll be able to reclaim my crown of CS champion of the Universe....can't wait to see multi player in Doom and half life 2 :) :D

D3 isn't the only game with bugs,sometimes when you jump over the bridges in GTA,the road dissapears briefly,until you land. :wack:

Yeah but I just dont think GTA is as polished.......damage is very good to, like when your tyres go and you run on the rims....squeaking/screeching... :thumbs:

it didnt just get leaked though mate, sections of the code were actually stolen from their computer systems, they wont say how it happened but 2 main possibles are :
the management were just dumb and kept irrelevent computer systems connected to the internet which allowed hackers access to the main network which they were working on.
or that due to them taking pieces of the code home on laptops etc (which they did) they could have either lost or been hacked at that point.
to me its just sloppy.
the fbi have been called into it anyways.
makes me laugh that it should even get to that stage.
anyways... unreal tournament 2004 is by far the most addictive game for me at the moment. ive got the instal up to about 8gb so far with all the extra maps and i havent downloaded half the extra stuff for it yet. i havent even played half the maps and ive been playing it for months.

got to say GTA is much better than Driv3r
got Driver 3 on friday for the X box, 1st bad point was the pop up, for the so called power of the X box it still had really bad pop up.
next bad point was, i only played it a couple of hours a night and completed it last night (took me weeks to complete GTA).
RENT IT DONT BUY IT

I agree, GTA is better than Driv3r, but for the driving aspect. A better all round game. I've heard the xbox version suffers more from glitches and poorer graphics than the ps2 version as well which is odd. The on foot sections of the main game have been annoying me tonight. I'm wishing they had kept the getting out of the car to a minimum. Driving bits make up for it though :cool:

Reflections haven't made a decent game ever. All three driver games have been buggy POS, but then it is Infogrammes, they wouldn't know a decent game if it bit them on the ass.
