PC Speed up ?

my pc is running really slow at the moment anyone know any software that can help speed it up, registry cleaner?? or any tips on what i could do thanks !!

first off check for spyware with lavasoft adaware of spybot "google it" 2nd go to add remove and remove all programs you dont use, i.e i have kodack which uses my resources and i dont use the program, after that go into start>run> then type msconfig and here you can shut certain programs from starting up that you dont need, but be careful make sure you know you dont use it before shutting down, or you could get some more ram

Yes.

Also check to see if HD needs a defrag

I've been trying out CachemanXP (here (http://www.outertech.com/index.php?_charisma_page=product&id=7)) which claims to optimis various bits and bob of Windows. Doesn't seem to have made the OS (any more) unstable either ;) ...
