A few weeks ago I posted a thread about a seriously sorted R34 V-spec that my mates father in-law is considering buying from a colleague where he works. Some of you may also remember that he let his driver/chauffer take it home one night and it got nicked. The chauffer said he parked it outside his house in North London overnight and in the morning it was gone.
It was found by police about 15mins from the chauffers house with £8000 worth of damage. Now this car had a SERIOUS anti theft system installed along with a tracker system. Since this happened the insurance assessor has viewed the car. He found NO evidence of forced entry to the car and NO evidence of the cars ignition circuitry or barrel being tampered with!!!! In short, the only thing that the "thief" could have used was a duplicate key and a very complicated method of bypassing the alarm system. Tracker also examined the car along with the alarms installers and the alarm was found to be unmolested and the tracker never activated as the system was never triggered.
Mmmmmmmm. Now I am no expert on how to screw motors but this does not seem like an opportunist joyrider as they would not have been so careful when breaking in. Also had this car been stolen by a preplanned operation then it is unlikely they would dump it so close to point of theft or ever find it again?
Needless to say the chauffer has been suspended and is in BIG trouble with his company and the police!!
The damage included front, side and rear body damage with suspension damage along with 4x new Nismo split rims with new tyres!!!
It's going to be ready when Middlehurst Motorsport have sorted it in a couple of weeks and then my mate is getting it for the weekend :D :D :D
