Well... Coming to the end of my contract... called them about an upgrade... wanted to upgrade the plan but they said they could do whatever they do or match anyone else... had a think and called back telling them that i want to end my contract.. boy that made them bend over!

Got through to a VERY nice girl in disconnections/retentions and she has sorted me out with...

500 anytime any phone anyone minutes
30 free texts for the first 3 months...

All for... £25 inc VAT!!! I nearly fell off my chair... And the phone i wanted was supposed to be £50 upgrade but she is doing it for £30... (But gotta wait a little while as it VERY popular)

So for £34 a month i get...

500mins
90 texts (For the first 3 months then 60 after)
Orange Care Insurance...

:notworthy

Soo... Dont be aftraid of calling them and giving them a push (Politely) and they will take it... With no lube... LOL!!! :wack:

WTF???

no way, im well fcked off with orange, spent 2 months last year trying to get my phone fixed/replaced got messed around for two hole months, went into a shop to get them to sort it out, they told me pretty straight, you didnt buy it from here so its not our problem, my phones gone wrong again about a month ago, they replaced it and charged me 15 quid extra, so i told them i was ending my contract , tried explaining, why and the women couldnt give a toss

Its quite random if they will give you a better deal or end your contract , some onee i know said he wanted to cancel his contract because he said it did not compare well to other deals out there, so they just cancled it (not what he wanted.)

Phone replacement is supposed to me next day, had my current phone replaced 4 times.

Orange, are by far the worst I've ever delt with for our company phones - wrong tariff, wrong phones, some phones not transferred correctly, in short a dissaster.

Then you try and sort it out over customer service both phone and fax - and emails still no joy, my quote to them 'that for a communications company you seem not to want to communicate to your customers' didn't help matters - eventually got all the problems resolved after 4 months (after legal action started to end contract).

Will I be renewing with Orange? I think not.

Cookie - the upgrade deal you get is entirely dependant on how much you spend on your bill each month. If you spend over a certain threshold, and have done for a certain number of months, then they will be keen to keep you. If you don't spend a lot, then it could cost more to keep you than it does to just let you go.

Understand that most handsets these days cost over £200, but that they are subsidised to around £50 or £100 to the end user. The operator has to factor this loss into the amount of profit they expect to make from you over the year length of your contract...

I don't work for Orange.

But....if anyone is thinking of swapping over to Vodafone :Plug: then I think I can get hold of some vouchers which give you money off your first bill or two. PM me if you are in that situation.

oooh...

Going from my experience i have not had any of the problems you encountered if i had a problem with my phone i call up, they try and diag it and i get it replaced next day to where ever i want... Only problem i did get was when i got one bloke who said i had to call back when my phone screwed up... Via the Lan line... Called back and got another young lady and she got my phone swapped and upgraded the next day...

Must like my voice...
