View Full Version : Moving cars
Right i'm in Chelmsford, need to pick up a 200 in eastbourne,
car doesn't drive, tubby and gearbox not fitted
and no i can't do it on the spot and drive it back
any ideas how i can get it back :annoyed:
tow it round the corner, call the AA and tell em your turbo dropped off :wack:
Options are simple - tow it avoiding motorways or source a trailer

tow it
get one of those tow bars. get some ones to sit in it and steer while you do silly speeds :wack:
or get it low loaded but big money

iv towed on the motorway late at night
iv towed on the motorway late at night
so have i, but doesn't mean its legal ;)
east bourne involves alot of motorway,
and i bought my mates will give up on a night out to help me,
got to do it by saturday.
those tow bars are good,
but when i took my 200 to colchester we managed to snap one! 1 mile from Steves house :annoyed:
it saw scary in the dark (flat battery so i had no lights)
couldn't see a thing apart from my mates rear lights blinding me!
tow it round the corner, call the AA and tell em your turbo dropped off :wack:
make sure you've taxed it a bit before (ie not on the same day) and that the brake discs don't have rust on them or they get a bit funny :wack:
Managed to get them to trailor a car from Hartlepool to Oxford ;) :D

get one of those tow bars. get some ones to sit in it and steer while you do silly speeds :wack:It needs to be taxed and insured to be towed like this. You need an a-frame thing which steers the car if it's not insured.
i doubt they'd fall for the "my turbo fell off" routine either :wack:
can u rent trailors ?

can u rent trailors ?
yeah, they arent that expensive :)
how much roughly?
if i get this car, i'm gona either
break it,
put the gear box and turbo on and sell it. (h-reg standard 75000, ok condidtion whats it worth?)
or use it for drifting- not likely although this what i'd most like to do!
so i don't want to pay out to much cash, got to make some money(one day)
Does anyone on here in the essex area have a trailor to rent?
