I understand your M3 has 380bhp.. :eek: What is the 1st stage of upgrading the M3 engine??

What else can you do to the engine to get up to that power other than super/turbo charging ...? I remember the AC Schnitzer (sp) only put it up to 350 but concentrated more on handling..

What do Alpina do to the bimmers they get hold of?? They have some mighty fine power fgures :)

Most alpinas are just tuned N/A's, the B10 is a Bi-Turbo, and is the 5 series.
I want one. 8K though for E34 one. :( and HUGE petrol costs. But does 180mph before you start modding it. :)

Have you seen mention of the twin-turbo Diesel that Alpina do? Evo gave it 5 stars, it has performance very much approaching the M5, and very good fuel consumption...

The engine is torbocharged :D it's a Hamann motorsport engine.
I bought it from a BMW dealer who had it in a demo car that they were selling. After i sold my car (e30 with 3.5l alpina engine). When i bought it, it was in a bad shape (the car) on the dyno it had 382bhp!. I decided to pull the engine and ditch the car. Now i'm rebuilding it (F**KING expensive). In the summer i going to drop it in my current beemer.

Get a good chip and have the redline set to 8200/8500rpm.
Don't use a openair filter! get a k&n panel filter.
And a good exhaust system (supersprint is good or a G-Power DTM system)
This will give you about 20 bhp. It may not sound like much, but believe me you will feel it.
After this change the cams.
The 2.3 engine will go upto 280bhp N/A.
The 2.5 engine will go upto 300bhp N/A.
