right , for the past 3 months ive havent been able to access the sxoc via sxoc.com, if i use sxoc.co.uk however its fine, im guessing its a prob with my setting or my server providrs settings. any suggestion or fixes.
tried pinging sxoc.com and get no reply
ping sxoc.co.uk and all is well

See what the IP address its attempting to ping when u ping the .com. its possib;e that an old DNS zonefile for sxoc.com is stored on a DNS server/resolver somewhere. U got the IP hard wired into ur PC/Server/router or anything?

right just pinged sxoc.com nd it reply, which it never used to. so any more ides
btw the computer isnt plugged into a router or anything
just the phoneliine and thats it
what ip address did you get when you pinged it?
I might be being thick here (not for the first time :wack: ) but why not just use the .co.uk address? :confused:

Same for me on NTL cable. The problem with not being able to get the .com version is if someone attatches an image and then link to it in a message, it puts the link as sxoc.com which means that all the pics have to be opened separately. Not really bothered me much so I didn't say anything.
He's probably trying to be all international ;)
Ah, good point - I must admit to having a certain liking for the international aspect of the boards. :nod:

That's the same I.P that I ping on SXOC.com - and I can access it fine.
