What do you actually do?
I don't mean drive quickly from a to b. Nor polishing (insert noun here).
What do you do for a living?
I'm a motors journo (sigh), looking for copywriting/agency positions...
Come on, own up to it!

What do you lot do?
... As little as possible! :D
I'm 'officially' an Accounts Assistant, with bits of Insurance, Missions (Work for a Church HQ.), Bit of DTP and Graphic design, and occasional heavy lifting ( :().
Previously a failed musician (Still failin quite happily!), and occasional purveyor of the written word.

I tried to become succesful in the late 80's early 90's. only to be surrounded by half assed musicians. I think though that I just didn't have enough courage of my convictions to sell myself enough to give that extra push (Turbo requirement!). I could play as fast as Yngwie Malmsteen if that helps!?!.
Tony
I work in IT, but only at the weekends and only just for fun really. It's in a retail store you see so its not really challenging.
The rest of the time I am in the process of starting my own business in property. But sadly suffering in terms of fianance at the moment.

Wow - loads of musicians...
I used to play bass, mean to pick it up again...
Left the band coz they didn't want to gig, couldn't be bothered one tiny bit. Guess what? 6months later, they were gigging. Wierd.
I'm a final-year medical student. Finals are fast approaching... gnnnnn gnnnn :(
Im a build/test engineer for a photorealistic 3D graphics company. Very cool, very easy :)
I'm a Surface Mount Engineer
Network Analyst. This means checking this BB during working hours is technically part of me job as I am monitoring response speeds, or so I tell my boss !
How wierd and slightly scary...
I did this survey ages ago on a VW Beetle forum, and most were creatives - writers, designers etc.
Wonder why most here seem to be techy based...

Wonder why most here seem to be techy based...
Maybe because:
1 - We use computers all day long, so it's easier for us to use internet...
2 - We have time left :D ;)
3 - only "writers, designers, etc" can fit into a VW...
I'd like to add that I don't agree with the term "creative" you used. I MUST be creative in my job, even if it's technical. (for exemple to explain to the client why the commercial sold him 3 £800 days when 1 would have been enough :D )
Cheers

I'd like to think of myself as a sort of 'Rennaisance Man', but that would lump me in with Tony Adams so I'll pass on that.

Sorry about any perceived slight ref word "creatives". I'm a writer by trade, so tend to only think of arty-farty-lieratry types as creatives!!! LOL ;)

:o im a train driver!!!, but not a saddo spotter!, (not many drivers are), working on the west coast modernisation, because as steve carter will probably know, its in a bad way. (A work mate told me yesterday that a bloke he used to work with put an exhaust off of a sprinter train on to his old RS turbo!!!!!!!! )
but i drive a van more than i drive the train, usually do about 1000 miles a week, used to have a 2ltr turbo van but the company was receiving too many speeding tickets, so now weve got a 1.9 n/a:mad: very lucky if we can get 90- DOWNHILL!!!!

HEHEHE yeah, there arent many people that work on the railway that are actually interested in it. Its just a job. And we all think that train spotters are a bunch of muppets.
I worked on the West Coast line last year doing surveys for the modernisation. What a load of cack.
Brave bunch, you drivers. I dont like travelling by train ever since I have been on the railway coz I see what goes on and the state of some of the signalling/ track equipment. Scary stuff.

Star Trek is utter shyte, and IT s just a really easy/clean/stress free way of getting cash and playing on the net all day.
I'm right there with you.:):)

yep the rail and signals are crap, but even worse are all the lemming agency workers who havent got a clue, who im supposed to trust telling if the line is blocked or clear ect. and are nearly always wrong, they have no experience or wits about them, they just like the £10+ p/h, regardless of peoples lives, especially like blokes yourself on the ground!
i beg to differ, but, a program that was originaly only set to run for a period of about twenty episodes over thirty years( i think ) ago that still gets screened quite regularly and has to date spawned another four serials and soon to be ten films, can by definition not be ****e. it is however a classic, admitadly some of the off shoots do lack in areas but they all, generaly make decent viewing. its an age thing, i was still a young, nearly infant boy, when the originals were still relatively new, and it was the imagination that did the rest, and still does to an extent, thats the same imagination that pictures my car the way i would like it, and inspires me to continue ' improving ' it. it would be a boring old world if we just sat back and let everything continue at a slow pace. remember todays fiction is toworows fact. basically you think its bolrox and i dont:D :D :D :D
That'll be u jibbering on again then :p :p
