View Full Version : Suspension Geometry
Anyone know anywhere in South Wales area (who knows what their doing)that can set up my camber (F&R) and adjust the toe etc when my suspension goodies turn up.
I've got these settings from doing a search on the board. Anyone know if they look about right
Front - 1.5 degrees of camber and -0.5 toe
Rear - 1.2 degrees of camber and zero toe
Any advice appriciated

Have a look on www.whitwline.com.au
They show different set-up's depending on what you want.

Nisstec won't do it, but they have a contact at TK Thomas or something in swansea - they set up mine when I fitted HKS camber plates and my tyre wear has been very even for the last 2 years.
For any of you that are interested. I gave Promax a call this morning, seem to be ok over the phone. They said that they can set the camber and toe up front and back at a cost of £60 + VAT. They said it normally takes about 2hrs to set up but depends on how much the geometry is out in the first place. Their address for anyone's reference is:
Promax
Unit 41,
Dafen Industrial Estate,
Dafen,
Llanelli

I shall post any feedback when I get the car set up sometime next week. :D :D Thanx again for the name Phill
Let me know how you get on mate. As soon as my car ic back on the road i'll be visiting myself.
I've downloaded the spec's for setting the suspension up off the Whiteline web site. I'm hoping they'll set it to that.
I couldn''t get the whiteline link to work mate. What are you going to ask them to set yours up to, if you don't mind me asking.
I was going to go with:
Front - 1.5 degrees of camber and -0.5 toe
Rear - 1.2 degrees of camber and zero toe
Vez has posted on another thread saying that's what he's running and it feels very good.
According to the Whiteline website - www.whiteline.com.au - they recommend . . .
Front camber -1.5 degrees
Front caster L+7.5/R+7.0 degrees
Front toe at 0
Rear camber -1.0 degree
Rear toe at 1mm IN.
Dunno how much difference it's gonna make compared to Vez's set-up as it seem's almost identical but i'm sure less camber is going to improve tyre wear, it may reduce you turn-in but the car should tram-line less . . .
Yeh, tyre wear is my main concern at the moment as I've just put my new wheels on the car. The rear is my main concern with the 265x35x18 Bridgstone SO2 Potenzas costing aroung £180 a corner
Just got back from Promax and having the camber toe etc set up. Seemed like a nice bunch of lads. Their main business is prepareing and repairing Mitsibishi Evo rally cars. They did have a R33 GTR sitting on 19's in the garage with about 550bhp but was in bits as the owner had blown something on it
I had a problem with the rear ride height though. My car is sitting slightly lower on the drivers side than the passenger side, so they couldn't get the aligning gear on to the drivers side wheel :annoyed: .
They set the front up with -1.0deg Camber and about -0.5 toe. They also sorted the tracking which was way out. They took about 1hr 15mins and charged me £35. They also said to take the car back down to them to sort the rear out when I get it lifted a bit.
The car is so much more sure footed and responsive. Just to test it out I managed 65 leptons around roundabout with no tyre squeel and it felt like I could push it even more. :D :D :D
