Okay.
On Saturday, I'll pick up my '95 S14. I've driven a few non-sporty cars before, and hammered them all over the place, but this will be the first 120+ Bhp, and more importantly the first RWD.
Any helpful insights into driving so that I keep from totalling this beauty of a car before I've owned it a week, would be very welcome. I'm considering taking some motorsports lessons when I find where, but in the meantime... help ;o)
Oh yeah, and please don't just say 'drive slow and in the dry only' !!
Michael.
dont drive fast, and make sure it aint wet!
sorry, on a serious note if you pick it up in the dry and arnt going stupid, it wont be all that different from any other car,
however in the wet!
just take your time to adjust to rwd especially when you come on boost round a quick let hander, can catch you out at first.
but after a while it becomes second nature to get the arse out round every corner, and you will never want a front wheel drive again.
torque steer - yuk!

Big shopping malls or shopping centre car parks can be good for a laugh when its wet, just go down on a sunday morning and give it some welly, Tiff Needel-tastic!!!
I used to go down to a homebase car park near me when I had my MR2 to practice power slides, its smart :}

Rear wheel drive cars arn't that scary really, as long as you know what you're doing! For the first couple of weeks if the back end steps out, just lift off the power and steer into the skid, and you will catch the back end. When you've been driving for a while you'll get used to keeping the power on, steering the wrong way round the corner (opposite lock) and going sideways! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
Traction in the dry shouldnt be a problem though, just in the wet in can be a bit twitchy.
Oh, and now you've got a RWD car you can do donuts and propper burnouts!!!!

Michael,
Make sure you have decent tyres on the rear (and front for that matter). Bought mine from a Nissan garage and they replaced the rear tyres for me, niavely thought they may replce the Yoko's, but no, they but on bloody GT Radials!!!! These piles of poo slipped in the dry, and were undrivable in the wet.
Have got Bridgestone S-02 Potenze pole Positions all round now and the difference is scary! STS do these at a ood price, work out at £125 per tyre for the standard 105/55/ZR16's.
But most of all, enjoy it!!!!!
John.
PS Have changed job recently and now get the train to work, and my 200sx scared the crap out of me since I haven't driven it properly in 3 weeks!!!! Have had the car over a year now and I still love it!!!
