Hello!
Got a couple of SuperVCD's here on disk.. trouble is, each half takes up 811mb or so. I tried making a couple CD's from burning the .bin / .cue method, which fits onto an 80min CD or so... unfortunately, it doesn't play in this mode ... media player for example simply tries to open the file and hangs. Not so good.
So, using VCDGear, I convert the image into a playable .mpeg file. This is great! Quality is superb and everything. However, the files are 811mb each, and therefore don't fit onto CD at all :(
So what I proposed to do, to make a quick n' easy hack to get the files on CD, I wanted to split each mpeg into two half-size files. Unfortunately, they aren't standard mpeg format - Virtualdub won't read them (I was originally gonna convert to DivX which would fit on one CD) - gives MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error. So, I'm left with Adobe Premiere.
This loads the file in fine, plays inside the player window ok. However, I've not even attempted to do anything with premiere. Frankly I'm astounded I got that small clip of Matt_S to work :D
So can anyone a) teach me how to split a file into two and save them in Adobe Premiere, b) show me how to export the file in Premiere to a DivX encoded AVI, for example, retaining all the same settings from the original mpeg file!
-- edit --
Ok, gonna try exporting in Premiere from what I can see - unfortunately I can't seem to select an MP3 method for encoding the sound.. I'll just dump it uncompressed for now, VirtualDub can fix that after (if this works)..
here we go! :D
