I'm off to Jersey in a couple of weeks, for my elective, and staying for a couple of months. Obviously, the car's going with me!

Anyone know Jersey well? Any good/bad bits? Any specialist Nissan tuning shops with a large discount running? :)

I heard a rumour that there's a 40mph limit on all of the island :( :( The word deported springs to mind... :D

Oh, and does an standard s14 front spoiler have trouble with getting onto a car ferry?

Thanks for any info :)

50mph speed limit. Roads about as wide as a small dog.

No VAT on stuff, gold is cheap.

A couple of months will prolly do your head in is about the size of a Volvo 960' boot.

Jezz.

You wont get much over teh limit anyway. The roads are either full of traffic or v.narrow.

Make sure you fill up with petrol before you leave. It's dirt cheap. The garage I filled up at sold Ferraris. :)

Hmmmm from watching Bergerac:
a) Dont get murdered - it happens there a lot
b) The bloke in the old red motor is a copper - hes into uphill gardening Ive heard too, so DONT let him search you ;)
c) Dont buy anything from a bloke called Charlie who drives a Roller

Sorry - I just had a very nice chat with the lady from elephant insurance, and had to explain to her what an actuator was. She didnt even know how a turbo worked, so that was fun :)
Particularly since she was welsh ........... mmmmmm that accent .......... :D :D :D

I think you have the wrong car for Jersey. The roads are all so small and narrow that hot hatches rule. I was lucky enough to borrow a tuned up Mk2 XR2 and a 205 GTi when I was there. Lots of fun.

On one side of the island is a 5 mile road. The speed limit was 40 when I was there, but just make sure you pick your time.

There are also some hill/sprint climb roads that can be good fun. These are public roads so you can go and find them and practise.

Oh, and the beer was strong and cheap !!
