It is a real shame that football attracts such moron's. Can't see it ever changing though

Pisses me off. :(
Though I also believe that british fans are at times deliberately intimidated to provoke such a response.
it's just the nature of patriotism really... pisses me off too
Not in their defence in any way, but the stuff that happened the day before I heard was started off by 1 bloke throwing a bottle. Wakner, true, but the way I heard it the portugese old bill then went flying into this bar smashing everyone with batons, including the ladies and peeps trying to get out the way
Fair enough, they have a difficult and dangerous job to do, but FFS you cant just go beat up a crowd, particularly one containing women coz one tosspot has thrown a bottle
We saw something similar in Magaluf in the last Euro cup - in Linekers bar having a drink, a bottle gets smashed, then out of nowhere theres teargas cannisters in the bar, police hitting anything (including each other at times :wack: ) HARD, tables and chairs flying and general riotness. There was nowhere to go if you wanted to get out of the way, so you just had to hope you didnt get whacked and nicked. :indiff:
I just think if the Police had a slightly more measured response in some of these cases, this kind of gang riot thing could be avoided :)
Pisses me off. :(

I agree - I also think theres an element of foreign coppers being shit scared of drunken englishmen :indiff:
just thought - if they're 'ambassadors'... can they be hung for their crimes?? lol
Pisses me off. :(

I agree, has happened to me in Spain and Slovakia

And the Iraq war was over ............... ?
Its the same as any other riot/battle/war/fight - theres a difference of opinion, and apparently the best way humankind have to sort it out is to smash each other up  :wack:

Just thank fook it's not in Turkey, we'd have had more body bags coming home than the yanks have from Iraq by now.

Yeah but when its about football it seems a bit trivial, like were going to smash up things because somebody let a ball into a net.
Spose Iraq could be seen as a bit trivial if they only went in after the oil.

Its difficult to comment having not whitnessed any police "heavy handness" or not as the case maybe, but its sad that it comes to this. One thing to note though, is its not just the English, I believe the Germans and the Dutch had an incident after their game.
