View Full Version : New Beastie Boys album
Man it's amazing, one of the best 'true' Hip Hop albums for ages! very different to the past stuff as it hasn't got any instumentals and all tracks are strictly hip hop and provided by Mix Master Mike.
If you haven't got it get it now and I promiss you won't be dissapointed!! apparently their gonna be touring at the end of the year too
cool, i must try to get hold of that then, i remembered i discovered "ill communication" a few years ago and listened to just that for a whole summer! :D
It's called "To the 5 Boroughs" btw :)
It's pretty good, been listening to it at work for the last couple of days

I'm getting it for my birthday, birthday isn't until Sat. :(
I was about to pre order it on amazon the other week, missus piped up with "your not ordering it are you???" Not much of a birthday surprise now. LOL
I've got pretty much everything they ever did, they are cool.

i got this off play.com last saturday, totally agree that it is amazing
you gotta love the basslines
i was expecting some a few of the odd tracks they usually like to do but theres non on here, just pure 100% hip-hop - and i love it :smitten:
i remember a few years back when they were playing a festival over here they asked the prodigy not to play "smack my b1tch up" cos one of the beasties had become a born again christian, but on this new album they have enough swearing :D lol
My son bought it on Monday and stuck it in the autochanger - played it all the way to the rugby club last night - great bass!

I was going to pick up the Beastie boys, faithless, and streets new album at the supermarket on the way home tonight - this thread just reinforces it as a sound idea

Got the new streets album already, IMO it's nowhere near as good as the first one.
Anybody got the new Ash album yet?

my hello nasty ain't that scabby cos I wasn't a huge fan of whole album. some songs like intergalactic were cool though
I've got all the B Boys albums and love them all because of the different styles but I think this will be their last album and I think they wanted to go out with 'true' hip hop and show all these 'rappers' what real hip hop is all about.......... MC's rhymin to a DJ! and not all this bling bling bullsh1t
Chetster: I'm coming on Sunday with Fin and Lou so I'll give you an evaluation vision ;)
And there was me stuck for something to ask for from my son for fathers day.... :D

 That's next on the to buy list I reckon.
have to say the song where they're rapping over the Honda advert music rulz.
lmao, the honda advert music, mate that's Rappers Delight by The Sugar Hill Gang and is one of the most famous (and sampled) hip hop tunes ever
I bought it the other day straight after seeing Jonnyboy in Shell. Top album and now I'm going t have to get all my other Beasties albums out. Number 2 is the best track

 I can't believe anyone who says they like Hip Hop doesn't know that was Rapper's Delight :smash: :D
I "acquired" myself a copy of the Beasties new album - listening to it now and I'm impressed  Listening to people like the Beastie Boys and KRS-One (get his new album BTW "Keep Right") makes you wonder how punks like 50 Cent get away with it, and wether they will still be around after a couple of years let alone nearly 10.

totally agree Wak, the old school guys who have been around since the start still know how to rhyme and find+create good beats
im well into track 4 on the new Beasties album at the moment :)
Track No.9 is the way forward
didnt even know the album was out yet, but do have the check it out single :)
does it match check yo head and ill communication, hello nasty was a bit cheesy
...currently listening to the kanye west album which is the bollox, despite being sold in safeway
and 50 cent maybe a sell-out but he's not a punk

prefer ill communication, check your head and pauls boutique, but that is cos they are so good and maybe I haven't listened to new one enough. Its a spot on cd though and yes better than hello nasty
This album is different to the rest, it is more hip hop orientated, it's a fantastic album and I'm sure it will be a classic album like the others.
