Ok, once chatted with a bird on ICQ when she was splitting from her husband.. He used to beat her about a bit..
Anyway, hadn't spoken in 6 months, then she contacts me on ICQ yesterday and we chat..

Get a call today from an Irish guy, and it goes like this:
Him: "do you know Sarah?"
Me: "err dunno - I know a few..."
Him: "you spoke to her last year on the internet..[like september]"
Me: "oh yeah why?"
Him: "This is just a curtosy call... dont you ever dare contact her again... dont want to have to come down to [my address] and kick your head in / sort you out"
Me: "err what the ****? she contacted me?!, whats all this about?"
Him "look im trying to make this easy for you, dont talk to her again"
Me: "errr whatever [I hang up]"

So, whats the plan? Do I:
a) Move house.
b) Park my car elsewhere
c) Track him down and kill the pikey
d) Never talk to her again?

Report it to the boys in blue, preferably start crying on the phone or even better, get a woman to make the call for you.
If you sound all man-ish then they might not do anything (believe me, a mate of mine was thrashed black and blue and nearly bottled (only reason he wasn't was coz someone turned up) - knew precisely who had done it etc - Fuzz took 9 WEEKS to question the assailant).

Get the guy's number, get your phone tapped and get him.

If Sarah contacts you again, then chuck as much into the conversation as you can to trip her up, just incase it is a game.
And evewn better, reroute your ISP to one that uses a dynamic dial-up to change the address each time you connect.

If you are really worried - email him something to do with his profile from a yahoo address (eg Bigblondboobies@yahoo.co.uk)
When he emails back, which he will do (you hope), yahoo will allow you to see the headers.
Find someone who can do reverse Tp/IP lookup and you can track him down, even use a Whois to find out his address.
There are people about who can do that, you just have to ask...

Richy, I wouldn't bother with the boys in blue. My young son kept getting phone calls from a man (who we managed to trace to Scotland) on his mobile asking him where he lives, age, asking to meet him, etc. I reported it to the police, gave them the guys number and they could/would do nothing. This was nothing to do with chatting on the internet, we reckon it was an initial random call.

You can find the address on anyone who is old enough to vote by looking on the electoral register. Copies of this are available for the public at most main libraries. So far as I know the information isn't yet available on line. There are seperate registers for each local authority, but if the guy knows which one you live his job becomes a lot easier.

I would go for the easier option.


This is what i think happened:-
u gave the girl ur address 6months ago, she wrote it down and kept it (in her purse?) with ur icq number on the same bit of paper.
This guy finds said piece of paper while looking through purse and decides to contact u to see what the score is.
He comes on as sarah and chats to u like he is her (remember that u havent spoke in 6months so the chat could be quite general) then decides after the chat that u pose a possible risk to his relationship and decides to phone u quoting address to warn u off.

or

She lost the purse, someone found it and decided to have a little fun.

or

one of ur mates who u told about this girl, thought it would be a great laugh to wind u up.

Personally i would either contact the girl using a differant icq (dont really know how that works) or go to ur mates pc, or one of the internet cafe things and pretend to be someone else to see what the reaction is.

or

let her contact u, and when she does, ask her wtf is going on.

Remember if u have only met this girl over the internet, u really know f all about her apart from what she has told u.
The beatings could be a bs story to get some sympathy, and this could be part of her little game.
