help anyone know about hondas

my girlfriend is im the process of buying a 95 crx :annoyed: but the gearbox is one the way out and i was wondering if anyone knows what gearboxes would fit or would i have to get one specifically for a crx i know its not a nissan but any help would be much appreciated :thumbs:

Is it the twin cam engine mate? B16a? If so you can get any b16 gearbox on (was in civic vti, crx vti, old civic type r), also an integra b18 gearbox will fit from an integra type r. Not sure but think the civic saloon 1.8 vti gearbox also fits but it has longer ratio's so is crap.

Basically any b16 gearbox will be the same.

If its not the twin cam engine then ignore everything i just said :wack:

With Honda's the common gearbox fault is the synchros going on 5th gear, then a little while later 4th can start to play up. If this is the problem that you have you can get the box back for a while longer by a gearbox oil change.

Any gearbox from a B16A engined car will work (Honda Y21 gearbox).

For big grins you should see about getting a TypeR gearbox if you can - its got an LSD fitted as standard

just search and you'll find all the info you need.
but as above i think and GB from a b16 will fit.

thanks everyone for your help its not the synchros its just when you pull away and go slow it makes a horendous noise its like a really worn cv joint but quicker and a deeper rumble, not good
