Right I have an S13. It's farting. We thought it was the manifold to head gasket, it's not. So it looks like it may be the exhaust to turbo manifold (if that's correct / poss).

Can someone in North East have a look, diagnose and fix. I have £80 for someone to do this.

I need my bloody car runnning...!

There is a gasket between the manifold and turbo, thin steel gasket with a raised ridge around it to make the air tight seal.

To do that don't you need to strip off the manifold and down pipe and take the turbo, elbow and manifold off in one unit to get to the back mounting bolts? If you do i think thats quite a bit of work

can you do it?

what i need is someone to have a look at it and tell me if they can do it and what they want for doing it...

Sorry mate wouldn't take it on myself but i think you will be looking at paying a bit more than £80 to get it sorted, I think it's one of those jobs were you need to take loads of bits off just to get to 1 or 2 bolts and with it being an S13, downpipe bolts etc will tend to snap when you try to take them out

cant be something simple like the fecking exhaust can it...

anyone, please? Really desperate. There's NO FECKING CHANCE I am using the Tyne and Wear Metro to get to work....

If it's a gasket at the manifold end it will sound different to a blowing exhaust.

It is a fecker of a job, I'd say you'd need to be more around the 150 quid mark not 80 quid for someone to agree to do it, it's not worth the bleeding knuckles IMO Plus you need Dad power to get the stuff off and piano fingers to get into the nooks and crannies. Get the proper Nissan Gaskets and do the lot while your on, double up the nuts too on the turbo, 5 for an S14, size M8 I recall, dunno what you need for an S13?

It's booked in next week with Dale - already got all the gen Nissan gaskets from Bren (this guy is a star - mail order the way it SHOULD be done unlike a company I could mention).

I'll let you know how it went and what it cost
