A program last night on Kylie said that Central American rebels kidnapped people and made them crack by playing "I should be so lucky" on constant repeat, 24 hours a day.

I think there must be more effective songs and so for the last hour I have been wearing headphones listening to:

"Be My Boogie Woogie Baby"
on permannent repeat on Winamp. This track will be well known to anyone over 25 as the theme tune to Kickstart (the motorbike thing).

I'm quite enjoying it still. Perhaps not that effective as torture

Yes, these songs are all annoying, but what would be the best song to destroy a person's resolve and will to carry on?

Kickstart is really starting to grate now.

i like most of the tunes mentioned so far :o - I don't think they're "good" music, but they're catchy :)

The ones that would destroy my resolve and will to carry on would be
anything by the streets (banality in the extreme, I'm afraid)

anything by The Darkness having to listen to Justin 'I need a good slapping' Hawkins' godawful warbling (even worse than Celine I think) for longer than a few minutes would turn me into a window licker.

Nickelback or any other crushingly earnest 'nu-metal' from bands with a purposely mis-spelt name would force me to swallow my tongue (seeing as my hands would be tied).

(flame suit on :D ).

For general population irritation, 'Doop' would probably do it.

:D .

Saturday Night by Whigfield kept me awake every night when I went to Lloret del Mar as a young teenager with my parents. It was on pretty much non-stop till 4 in the morning in a disco by our hotel :annoyed: . Then after the holiday, thinking I'd escaped it, it suddenly became number one when I got back home :annoyed: :annoyed:

The Americans did it with AC/DC - reckon they could have done with one or two people from here advising them, they may have got the job finished more quickly.

No, you can't. You could have the theme tune to Big Brother though because the torture of thinking about what was about to follow would be one of the worst kind.
