View Full Version : Mundano ST24 / ST200
Ok, what engine did Mr Ford cram into these tinny rep-mobiles?
would I be correct in assuming that it's a non-turbo 3.0 V6?
2.5 V6, which is tweaked in the ST200 to give approx 200bhp.
Ahem...
Crafted from aluminium for strength and low weight. Engineered using aerospace technology. The second evolution 2.5-litre 24-valve Quad cam V6 is designed to liberate tremendous torque; deep reserves of power throughout the entire rev range.
From the finely polished "extrude honed" variable-length inlet tracts to the larger throttle body and low-pressure twin-pipe exhaust system, our engineers have enhanced engine breathing.
Re-profiled high-lift camshafts exploit the increased gas flow. Teflon-coated aluminum pistons and a new lightweight flywheel reduce the mass of moving parts. Squeeze the throttle. Feel the strong, silky-smooth response. Pure exhilaration. At your control.

That engine seemed to work well in the Noble M10 I went for a ride in around Silverstone http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/eek.gif
It's supposed to be quite heavy though. This is why the ST25 doesn't have a 0-60 time like the 200SX's http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

All the recent ford engines are very good, its just a shame that there all in (very good cars for their purpose) fwd rep mobiles.

Hmm, the ST24 certainly doesn't seem shy, it must be all that torque. I had a friendly rece with one a while ago, but it was pretty close. Gave me a few moments of worry I can tell you! I think it was an ST24, wouldn't like to try racing the ST200... yet... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Why? They're not that much of a problem http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
Vectra GSi (197BHP I think?) are quite quick. I quite like them. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
