I'm starting to get more and more calls from agencies about positions.

I'm told the market is starting to pickup, is this really true?

I had to take a permanent job last year and halve my salary! :(

Anyones thoughts on this?

Damn, I sound far to grownup : :p :D :p :D :p :D :p

That's better.

Forgot to mention, in the IT field obviously!

Hi m8. I was wondering what agacies you have used and how good you rekon they are. I have heard the economy is picking up in IT too. I lost my new job at stansted though due to 11/09. :( It was gonna be mainly home based as well so I could work on my 200 when it was quiet.

I am looking for a better job and would appreciate any info/advise you could give.

Not exactely an answer to your question so sorry.

BTW, you think you sound grown up. I even bought a mondeo to use for work rather my 200. Had bad is that? Now, where did I put my pipe and slippers?

No there isn't a place called Trousers in Surrey, at least I don't think there is?

I guess you have to of seen Rex the Runt to understand (don't ask) :D

IT Contractors get a fair wage because of their immense talent, flair, professionalism etc... How I ever managed to contract is a mystery to me! :D

I'm not sure how much useful advice I can offer really?

I got my job by registering my CV on the internet with several IT Jobsites.

It was just a question of subscribing to email searches, applying for jobs and going to interviews.

I found the Agency Computer Futures to be quite good, as well as the Orion Group who I got my position through.

I hope this helps for starters. :)

Bean, stop kidding yourself. IT contractors sit on their ass all day and punch keys! :D They just punch them in a different order and a bit faster than the rest of us :D :D Oh, and then wonder how to spend their vast wages on their cars coz they have nothing else to spend it on :D :D (shoot me down IT dudes!) PS. where you gettin' your H&R's fitted?

I hope you are right. I'm in a 1 year contract and it looks likely they'll renew but it's always nice to know there are opportunities out there if someone here takes a dislike to me or something :o

I'm fitting the springs myself but using the facilites of a mates garage. If they arrive in the time for the weekned I'll fit them with the tyres as well.

I'll be getting the geomeotry and tracking sorted as well.

Bean, good luck m8. Make sure you get a 4 wheel alignment done, is there anywhere near you that does it? I went to Abbey in Oxted.

The alignement will be done at my mates garage, the same place where I'm fitting them. :)

Got my contract through Gojobsite and First Technical in Manchester. Never done contracting before, it's scary when the market is this bad. I think they'll renew as they're putting in Windows 2000 this year and I'm the only Microsoft bod, but I'm always on the lookout for anything better. Although the money is much better than I was on when I was staff.
