Question for cossie/Ford knowledge peeps

Hi All

I have just bought a 2.0i DOHC Granada on a H-plate. To the extent of my knowledge on this car is that the engine is pretty much the same as the cossie engine apart from the tubby, pistons and head.

My question is does anyone know if the bottom end is the same as the cosworth. Just thinking up a plan :D

The cossie lump was based on the pinto and while the Twin cam was also based on it the cossie bottom end had quite a few differences. There are several different cossie blocks aswell and have to use things like differnet oil pumps etc aswell.

Based on that how strong would you say the bottom end is on the engine, if you know :)
