View Full Version : Did anyone watch.. Street Racing (!) on UK Horizons?
Well...
After watching only about half of the program so far... (so it's an incisive verdict coming up!) I can say that living in the UK still has -some- advantages over America!

yeah i`ve seen that twice now.
Just turned over one day and there was an hour documentary on the Streetracing scene in US.
Gangs turning up in Civics and RX7`s etc and racing from a resteraunt .
I thought "yyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeerss" :)
It was a bloody eyeopener.
Started to realize what they are on about on the US car boards. They always seem to be talking about civics and "raced this , raced that" and i`m thinking "i race fuc* all?? race where???"
Program showed it all twas good.
I gotta beat Mike ..
I gotta beat Mike ..
I gotta beat Mike ..
Oh dear, Mike runs 12.1 seconds and I run 14.5
Let's bring out the RX-7!
Oh dear it broke.
Let's bring out the MX-5!
Oh dear the clutch went.

That guy was a real class "A" plank yer right !
It's a real shame the program was so half-informative..
I wanted to know WHY his Rx-7 broke on the rollers.. "too much fuel, too much fuel" and "the engine is blown" DOESN'T HELP.
What power was the RX-7 putting out? Being a series 2 would it have been able to compete with a 12 second Civic ?
Kicking the wotsit's ass in his Mazda was kinda funny though..
Where were all the GOOD cars? The 750+ bhp Supra guys? They were in the Texas area after all, home of Clint "2 bar and 800 brake Lexus" Pohler and co... bah drat etc. They had to go feature all the moody-moody quarter-mile-is-king squad. All of whom would be thrashed to **** by a piston-spitting stuee69 ;)
Actually I REALLY wanted to hit that old guy who refused to take the "this car has nitrous" marking off the back of his car when he ran the quarter. There was NO bottle in the car (as we saw) and he could have checked before he made his run ferchrissakes.
Still, he got some strange kid to rub it off ;)
Oh this could have been so much more but TV companies really don't get it do they :(
