Anyone know what this is?
My computer keeps telling me I have a trojan with the above name and to run AVG to remove it. However have run AVG (with latest update) and it does not find it
Please help, coz I is a bit fick wen it comes to pooters :wack:
Run a full sweep of your hard drive with AVG, rather than specifically searching for that file. It ought to findit then.

Ahhh the wonders of AVG. Dont know how to kill it on AVG, but on sophos you can boot the computer of a Sophos boot disk and scan the computer and it'll get rid of it.
BTW its a trojan and that means that its designed to let someone to get control of your computer etc.
with AVG, open the Control centre and ensure that Use Heuristics is ticked.
And make sure all teh boxes above are ticked too.
Did you use Housecall as I suggested? Did that pick it up and get rid for you?
Does it give any indication where it is? If you've had it a few days, you could now have a dormant copy sat in XP's System Restore too. The only way to get rid of it then is to purge the entitre System Restore.

Searched on symantec and kapersky cause usually they will have a downloadable removal tool if the checker can't get rid of it, found the name of the virus on kapersky but couldnt find any removers for TrojanDownloader.Win32.Swizzor
Sorry :(
Go to the garage and find a sizeable hammer
then return and brandish it menacingly at the computer.
If that fails, check that the option to hide system and hidden files is unchecked

Right, I tried Housecall and that didn't find it. AVG tells me it is in the system restore, how do I purge it?
Scaning with AVG does not find it whatever settings I use

Control Panel -> System -> System restore
turn off system restore on all drives, reboot your PC then turn it back on again. that should do the trick
