Anyone know much about these. They look quite quick and are cheep as chips even for low milers. Was wondering if anyone had any experience of them? :)

Hmmm cant think why it lost
:D
my dad's on his second - the first one stood up well to a side impact. :(
they're good motors - same chassis and engine as the 306 GTi-6 which means pretty quick and not bad handling for a scrabbly thing either :) . he's getting about 44mpg (not much urban driving) which us 200 owners can only dream about.
well equipped and tbh i've always thought that the xsara coupe is quite a pretty car - much nicer than the 5dr.
used to have a vtr myself which i really liked but the vts is much nicer.
my 200 pi55es all over it though :D
afaik there was a spec change at the end of 2001 when they brought in automatic lights and wipers - you can recognise the newer cars as they have the stereo controls on a paddle thing behind the steering wheel rather than on the wheel itself, and they have a shiny gearknob. citroen were doing ridiculous deals on the runout stock at the end of '01.
hth
robin
just to add the only problems he's had have been an immobiliser fault, excessive wear on the steering wheel, and flaking of the paint on the front bumper - all fixed under warranty  oh, and like lots of new cars, changing bulbs can be a pain in the arse - i think the main beam bulb is a bumper off job

167 :) quick car for not much money
When I had my XM I got loaned a VTS as a courtesy car whilst they took 3 weeks to sort out the climate control :annoyed: :annoyed:
Leaving aside the obvious French failing of it being built from wet cardboard I thought it was a great car. It went very quick for 160bhp, it was fairly refined yet didn't attract the kind of attention that a Saxo would have. Considering it was a Citroen, nothing went wrong in the three weeks I had it. At the time I very seriously considered buying one with my own money.
I had a ride in one last week (mate's parents) and thought it was quite quick tbh :)

Hmm i'll definately consider one of these then. Cheep as chips to insure too :)
Is this to replace the S13 Martin, or as a daily driver?

Shall be picking up one either next weekend or the weekend after
£3315 1 years tax/MOT, 54k miles.
Very torquey engine with a power surge at 4300 RPM and revs all the way to 7k :)
you can get a nice alfa 156 for the same money, citroen looks :hurl: + they look cheap, ok they have 167bhp but you can pull that out of most 16valver cars with little money rover vi would be a good choice for power

Agreed on the looks and general cheepness but I wanted a completely standard car for insurance and also because I have no intention of modifying a car I only intend to keep for 6 months :)
I also wanted a reasnoble amount of power so beeners cant cut me up so easily :)
