Why is this called a Skyline in America? (i thought is was called a 350 something)

At a guess because it's the coupe, not a normal saloon.

The new skyline and the 350z share the same floor plan , that is the new skyline coupe (has the same engine as the Z and is not a GTR).

they have got the new skyline in a dealership just down the road from me along with a few 350s

Nope, just Nissan Skyline Coupe. There is no such car as a R35 (yet.....)

thats a 350Z rebadged as a skyline, and on the surface of it seems a cheap way by nissan to flog a car just because of the name skyline

Yep. You get even get a skyline estate with a GTR 2.6 twin turbo init. How cool is that? ;)

Its called a G35 (sold under the infiniti brand in the states).

Yes its almost the same as the Z however is a true 4 seater coupe

The RB 2.6 estate is called a stagea and the so call GTR version is made by autech (a subsiduary of nissan japan).

Its called an Infiniti G35 in the states... There are 2 models the 4 door and the Coupe... Seen loads in LA... nice car actually... Appart from the silly big chrome grill...

Apparently you are misreading my posts too :rolleyes: I didn't say anything about it being an Autech (RB26DETT) version,i simply posted a pic of a Stagea,which it is :rolleyes:
