don't leave the handbreak on - use wheel chocks instead if necessary.

will the tyres be damaged if you leave the car still for a year?...i know if i leave my RC car for an extended period of time you're not supposed to leave it stood ont he tyres...

I don't think it will damage the tires. Seb is right about chocking up the wheels though, if your leave the handbreak on it will stretch the cable and could also damage your breaks because of the pressure over time. To do with creep in metals :D

if we store cars at work we normally put an extra 8(ish) psi in the tyres

it would be worth taking the battery off and trickle charging it every month or so

how damp is it going to be where your storing it?
just wondering about the discs, they might rust a bit
ive heard of someone who before storing his car coated parts liable to rust in a light grease(dunno about the discs though?)

Put it up on axle stands. Take heels off. Remember to change ALL fluids when you drive it again. Disconnect battery.

To avoid moisture in the interior, you can put a.... how do I call this.... I'll explain:
In Holland you can buy small (about 1 litre) plastic container with a lid on top, and it "eats" moisture, which it traps in the container.....
(hope that's understandable...can't think of the English word...)

And as Martin already said, if possible, put it up on axle stands. You can even cover the tires in some sort of grease to stop them drying out (just remember to wash it off before you drive again :smash: )

Oh yeah - give it a clean and polish and put a bag of silica gel in it.
