Bandwidth

Yeah, I know Jezz_S13 has more bandwidth than most of us could ever dream of, but I've just had my Telewest cable modem fitted.
Seems to be peaking at about 600K which leaves me very happy.
While I have a reasonably quick connection at work, downloads are FORBIDDEN, its therefore here at home downloading where I can see a big difference, and realise that it at the other end of Limewire or Morpheus you're bloody sooooo dependent on your peers connection speed, even T1 and T2 ain't exactly superquick.
Anyway back to the naughty Russkie sites!

I know this guy who's on a pipe so phat is makes a Dimma bodykitted GT Turbo look like Kate Moss. He posted a screenshot of him getting a *sustained* 2.9MegaBYTES per second! I've been on LAN's slower than that!

He once downloaded a gig of ISO's in 11 minutes!

Oh for a connection that fast...

Unfortunately at 2.9mb/sec there's not a huge amount of sites out there that will sustain you http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif

I managed to hack 10mbits/sec out of my old satellite connection, was quite neat as you could hear the harddisk whirring away constantly with data coming in. Shame it sucked and it was all dodgy brazilian / german porno most of the time (it downloaded anything being broadcast at the time so I got a mix of everything really, including some guy's accounts excel spreadsheet).

I got a mate in the states who has four 600k cable lines coming into his house ......... thats more than our T2!!
