View Full Version : Math Question 2
If I have two figures, how do I find out how much greater the second figure is than the first expressed as a percentage
Random Example:
169 and 240
What is the increase in % of 240 from 169 ?
It'd be:
240/169 = 1.42
so as a percentage 240 is 142% bigger than 169 but most people just quote the 42% bit, I think.
Uuh that easy.. I didn't think that seemed right somehow ...
Ok cool, ta Jez!

heres one for you andy, if you filled a pint glass half full with vodka and put a 1/4 pint of coke in it, how much space would you have left for a vodka top up?

Dont get even -- Get odd!!!
AHH this is a trick question.
The answer is none!
Why?
If I drank half pint of vodka with only 1/4 pint of coke to soften the blow, I would have passed out before I would need a refill, most likely breaking the pint glass on the way to the floor, thus I would be unable to refill the (now broken) glass!
