Heres a few pics from the Drift Event at Hockenheim at the weekend.

Cool! Is that the same event that the yellow Jun Evo went to a few years ago? Any drifting racing trucks or anything like that this time? :D
Yes there was a drifting truck there. Very noisy but a very skilled driver. The thing is those truck racing drivers tend to drift around a lot during normal racing... but it was entertaining never the less.
Our boys did us proud but ultimately they didn’t take the win. Brett Castle was our best hope and managed to pull off some really great drifts around the one bend they were scoring on. But ultimately it seemed to go to the most entertaining driver at the end of the day but at least Brett managed to get to the final 10.
There were thousands of people there and about 40 odd competitors. No one complained about having to but the stickers on their cars, also some entries only got three!!!! Runs around that one corner before being kicked out of the competition. Some drivers also had no practice time at all but they never complained about a thing. The event cost 210 euros to enter, which is for three competitions. That’s about £50 per event so that’s only £25 cheaper than our events.
There were many different cars there from an old opal asconna type thing to a Ferrari 360 so it was entertaining for the crowd. The pit lane area also had a lot of top tuners with there cars on show and Porsche brought along their new carrera GT which we all had to stand and drool over for a while...
Although OPT Drift Club didn’t take the win at this event we plan to go back to Germany maybe in September time when the second round of the competition takes place at the Nurbergring. That should be a great event as our boys found it much easier drifting on the one scoring corner in third gear their when we went last year than drifting at Hockenheim this year. Also having the 13-mile Nurbergring track right next to the F1 track is very handy so we can do both things on the same weekend.

aye but who knows how many complaint letters they have recieved since :D ;)
i have an urge to send one myself after reading the above :D :wack:
lol Just in case the stickers comment was because of what I said, I wasn't complaining about having to put stickers on my car, just that the bloody thing ripped the paintwork off...
coughcoughwhichmayhavebeenmyownfaultcoughcough
It was just observations that I made when I was at the event. Nothing more.. please dont read into it to much.

Trucks race on normal road tyres, don't they? And they've got around 1700 brake and a squillion lb/ft of torque too, so it's no wonder they're a bit 'exciting' :D
Also, get some footage of you guys sideways around the carousel. That would be something else!!

lol that was a dig Mash, don't back down now :D I'll take it on the chin, as I used to do my fair share of moaning particulaly about stickers, but do you hear us moaning now?.. well, apart from about wetting the track in the practice sesh's ;). Out of interest, did they wet the track in Germany? ;):p:ghey::wack:
