Some may remember that I was involved in a no fault incident a few months back where some berk hit me from behind whilst i was stationary (he admitted full liability and i have a letter to prove that)... Well time has come to renew my policy.
I have been getting quotes for my existing car and also on a 2000 reg s14a. My nice quote for 1290 F/C on the s14a has now rocketed to £1447 since I am now supposedly a greater risk - to say i'm seething would be an understatement. How the f**k can some moron hitting me (whilst he was playing withthe radio and not looking a tthe road I might add) cause me to be (technically) £150 out of pocket? They say I am now a greater risk of having an accident in the next 3 years FFS!
 Insurance - legalised theft.
I have heard that they are not allowed to do this by law, as the accident was not your fault. Only what ive heard though so no idea if its true or not.
Anyway just to add, i agree, insurance are thieving cnuts :furious:

Try arguing that with the guy i just spoke to from admiral, apparently that how they work and its what their risk assesors say.
I think I could bring about a succesful discrimination case it seems far from legal
hehe i had the same with admiral a few years back now was rear end as i was stoped to turn right by a boy racer was ruled that he was at fult .so when i got a new quote from them later in that year it had gone up by about 300 quid there answere to this was there r a lot of people righting of corrado g60s at the mo yer right lol so i changed to privalage and got a sensible quote .so change your company and dont go back admiral r tossers .
That is just not on
its perfectly legal what they are doing - they're entitled to load for claims, regardless of fault.
Its VERY - and I mean, I've NEVER seen it personally, for a company to load for 1 single non fault claim. They can, however, load if there's more than one occurance.
Think about it - think woman driver, think 3 non fault accidents - all the time she's shunted up the arse? Think, is it something she's doing which attracts ppl to clump into the back of her? :wack: THATS the reason why they can load

call tesco!
Won't insure s14a's unless you are 23 with 2 yrs NCB nowadays :(
Has the previous claim been fully settled? If Admiral are still waiting for payment from the third party insurers, they won't reinstate your no-claims until they do. And, yes, this can take months depending on the third party and their insurer.

my understanding of the situation was that the NCB is as previous but they've just loaded for the non fault claim

 they did that to me too - not just admiral but any insurer i got a quote from. Cheapest quote this year was £940 from fluxy as opposed to £800 from admiral last year. its a crap system which is based on statistics and research, and any excuse to screw you for a bit more money. :(
plus when the missus told her insurers about it they put her premium up too by about £50.
thieving gits

My NCB is unfrozen and the 'claim' resolved.
However i'm currently with Direct Choice (not very good tbh and I have had to do a lot of running around to resolve this matter and get my NCB put back after they seem incapable to keeping their records consistent with Highway the underwriters).
Previously admiral have quoted and still quote ~£1290 (for s14a) and ~ 429 (for metro) if you don't mention the no claim/blame fault. Last night i ran through the quote again over the phone sincei need to buy soon and it jumped to £1444 & 508 respectively.
I feel like i have been stolen from :( , I work hard for my money and have 20000 miles of fault free driving and held a clean licence for 4.5 years.... :ghey:
I wanted a second car and was told my 3 years NCB only counts for one car so the second car (which was meant ot be a cheap run around) was gonna be about £800 3rd party !!!!!!!
Definitely p*ss taking c*nts. Do they get regulated and by who?

Oh great!!!
Going through the same at the moment, and next year is the first time I can ring up the insurance without any convictions for ages and the first time ever I can protect the NCB. Also I'll be 25 too, I was looking forward to bugger all insurance premium, guess that won't happen now

Some insurance companies don't care about it mate and won't load you.
Unfortunately so far admiral have been the only company who would give me a reasonable quote on an s14a, will phone more tonight and post my findings.
As I said I've never seen a company load just for 1 non fault claim - a bunch of em yeah, 1 - never

ring round mate some companys will let you use part of your no claims on your second car

if you get a decent broker they can swindle their way around issues like that anyways. I know I did it plenty of times when I was setting up P/Car policies

Okay so far I tried elephant (admirals partner in crime ;) ) They don't care so much about the no fault claim and have come out with lower quotes of $460 and £1414 respectively.
Arry: This is a single no fault claim - other companies likely fluxy seemed to not care about it but the admiral group do and load ~10% if it occured in the last year (however fluxy couldnt come up with a competitive quote on the 200sx £1500-2000! ).
Anyone suggest other companies who are not brokers that may be of assistance to me?
Thanks!
mods: please move to 'insurance' if deemed necessary.
