Does anyone know anything about the new KEF Coda 70, 80 & 90 series speakers.
http://www.kef.com/products/coda/codahome.html

I'm seriously considering buying some to go with the amp I have just bought (Yamaha RX-V800RDS), these speakers are new on the scene but look gorgeous, any one know what they are like or how much the RRP is? I have found the set (pair 90's, pair 70's and the 80 centre) for £560.

This a review of the amp http://www.homecinemachoice.com/testbench/index.html

Failing that anyone else have any suggestions of which speakers to go for, I'm after a matched set but not necessarily an A/V set, IE the rears are proper speakers in their own right, just smaller bookshelf versions of the main floorstanders if you see what I mean. Like the Coda's.

It's important that they are available in proper wood finish too, not black ash so they go with the pine floor.

I will consider the Mission Cinema 7 though, but would prefer something less common and a bit newer.

Anyone?

Cheers,
Jezz.

jez, new kef's are good alternative to the mission package....don't sound much better but far better looks....go for the most expensive kef centre you can afford....but don't mix brands.....if you can afford it, get the REL Q150 subwoofer (£440 discounted from Musical Images) Man it adds a whole new level...........trust me, been there seen it done it ( current set up cost £4500)!!!

Tony,

I was aiming for the coda 70/80/90 package where the 80 is the centre to keep the looks consistant.

I have also been looking at getting the Mission Cinema 7 kit but with 774's instead of 773's what do you think, the reason being that I'll probably retire my 11 year old Arcam amp and JBL's and use the A/V setup for music as well so I want decent main speakers.
I can get the misson stuff with 774's for £500 in the colour I want.
It's about time my Philips 36" TV was complemented with some decent sound.

What setup do you have?

Jezz.

Jez,

Make sure you listen to them first. KEF do make good speakers though.
