I am Girlracers Saturday girl. Hi all!
Is anyone interested in attending our mini show on June 20th? It's a good turnout and a right laff.
It's at Aston Hall in North Birmingham. Very cool setting!
If we get enough of you guys interested, we'll organise it so you're in an eye-catching position, or near the House. Rather 200SXs than Binis!

A Bini is a new Mini (BMW one) and a Saturday girl works one daya a week and does all the jobs no-one else wants to.
The show is mainly old minis, but there are a few new ones there.
Might just pop along to that. Got a mate who's well into Minis, sure she'd love to go

sup with the new minis? they're okay...can think of many many other cars on the road that are worse!!

They might be an OK car to drive and because of the features and stuff... but its the fact that they have taken the premise of a classic car and mutilated it for profit. It will never be a classic car like the Mini.
I have a couple of mates who's wives have new Mini Coopers. Both have been horrendous in terms of reliability and both can't wait to chop them in for something else.

I've always called them "biggy's" as they are not exactly small

granted, but then neither will the 200. Don't you think they did a good job of taking a 40 year old design and bringing it up to date?

The original mini was a go-kart, the new mini is twice the size and as heavy as the S13.
Not really a mini any more it it?
are you on "mini recourse" ? :)

I missed this thread while I was away - the first car I bought was a Mini Clubman estate and loved it to bits - I might have to attend this event!

The more, the merrier, Aitch
I may need restraining from any old minis with a "For Sale" sign displayed - I have a mini-sized space in my garage, money burning a hole in my savings account and weak will-power.

There's lots of S13 bits you could buy for me instead :D ;)

They still have ICE don't they? To cover up loads of engine noise at 65mph! :D

The ICE required to drown out the sound of a mini engine @ 65mph would weigh so much that a standard mini engine wouldn't be able to muster enough power to cope. :wack:
No :(
Seconded, for a decent modern small car buy a Yaris. The new mini missed out on a perfect opportunity to show some style and flare.

Too right - the only car I ever modded - first mod was twin 1.5 SU's then changed them for a single 1.75 SU. LCB manifold and performance exhaust and the standard Inca yellow paint changed for BRG and a white roof. Then I found out that most of the structural metal had rusted away and been replaced by filler and fibreglass and hidden with underseal so it had to be scrapped.

Mine was the lovely 70's colour 'Harvest Gold', that I resprayed to BRG with a white roof (like yours). Mine was standard apart from white weller wheels though.
