Instant Messaging/Chat Recommendations?

I need to setup up a chat facility for all the people in the company to enable them to send messages in real time.

I don't want to use ICQ because of all the dodgy messages that seem to pop up.

I've tried using Microsoft Netmeeting but my Firewall isn't keen on communication method it's using, also the Firewall won't let people through for IP Authentication (obviously).

Any suggestions guys?

The Hotmail/MSN Messenger is pretty good.
Yahoo is less-crash likely though...

I've tried using the Windows Chat programs when logged on through an external phone line but can't communicate with users the safe side of the Firewall.
