For the first time in my life I have found vandalism amusing. The local kids are hanging rubber tyrs on all the speed cameras and dousing them with petrol.
I guess the pictures taken after they have been lit could be described as hot shots.
Ohh that was a bad pun.

I wonder if Monsieur Gatsonides was any relation to Joan of Arc?
Oh, the irony.....
If only they'd do the same to police cars!
Specifically traffic cop cars, while they're inside them.

Didn't I hear somewhere that they are no longer allowed to hide them?
I think the argument was as they were a deterent and NOT a punishment they must be seen...I'm sure I also saw the words 'in plain view and painted orange'.
Some-one tell me if I'm talking gonads.

I cant understand why this isnt done across the country. The kids are always looking to vandalize bustops or anything else they can find . Why dont they vandalize these instead and have the country cheering?
They`d be easy to disable and surely it would then become too expensive to keep them running. Maybe then the government would take the hint.

Right, I'm off to pay th local brats a tenner a camera - I get through enough tyres to kill 6 a year!
Remember, if the old bill pull you and start examining your tyres, go and look at theirs, it properly pi***s them off!

I reckon painting themn orange would help us to see them. But on fire would be even better since you would see that for miles away.
Perhaps it wasnt vandals but a new iniative by the local plod. Sorry that can't be right. Police don't have iniative do they??

I remember driving down the A40 in the summer which is a lovely fast road littered with gatsos.
Amusingly some locals had obviously been round with a tow rope and a big truck. They had hitched up to the cameras then bent the poxy things back so the only things they were going to detect were passing jet fighters - I was well impressed - I cant understand why they are not vandalised more often...
