View Full Version : Smoking in my car
My mate keeps moaning at me for not allowing him to smoke in my car. Who's being unreasonable here. Is it him or me? Is it me for not allowing him to tug on his cancer sticks hence he gets all stressed, or is it him for making me die earlier, and have a car that stinks.
This then goes back to the smoking in public debate.
Ahh. It really pi$$es me off.

Your right he's wrong if he wants to smoke in a car let him buy one
No one smokes in my car
If you don't like my rules for my property use ya legs and walk!!!!
Same as if i was a smoker (i'm not) i would not expect to walk into someone else house and smoke - in their car - near their children etc etc
total no NO!
My sister always wants to smoke in my car, and I don't like it. She has two choices:
1) she doesn't smoke, and I drive sensibly
2) she lights up, and then I'll rag the feck out of it and scare her silly ;D

Make him walk if he wants to smoke.
Mate, what if you liked to lay a fresh turd while you were in your car from time to time? not a great habit and it would stink so although you'd be entitled in your own car I sense that your friend may not be so tolerant while you were in his car. Pretty obvious who's being unreasonable... I mean it would be nice to let him smoke, but certainly isn't something he should expect off you is it? :)
i am a smoker, and i say your friend is being unreasonable
i would not dream of smoking in a non-smokers home/car wherever unless given express permission to do so
I'm quite a heavy smoker and I agree with you... I wouldn't light up in someone's car if they don't smoke, even if they say they don't mind, you just know they are just being polite.
I'll tell him to fook off then for defo. It makes me sick when I'm cleaning my car and remove the ashtrays to find all the $hit in there.
when I'm in his car next I might have a quick jerk off and stuff the tissue I used to wipe by belly in his door pocket. He'll probably appreciate that.
just don't be soft
now he has smoked he'll expect it from u

I don't let people smoke in my car. But that's only because it's integral to my temptation avoidance strategy

Like the others have said, I'm a smoker but there is no way I would smoke in a non-smokers car - it's not on.
I'm trying to give up....I was diagnosed with Diabetes 11 months ago and the Doctor keeps saying "Your going to die...no really, you are"
any hints / tips on giving up? (stapling mouth shut is not an option....tho I'm sure many would welcome it ;) )

I smoke in my car, and so can anyone else, I do respect others when I'm having a lift, although a long journey will require a pit stop, not too much to ask ;)

i think the best/only way i would manage it would be to use those nicotine tubes, basically a ciggy like plastic tube that has a nicotine cartridge in it that you suck on like a ciggy
tried patches, they were pants (not to mention that was when i found out i am allergic to some adheisives)
gum sucks, its chewing gum ffs, and ya know what, i can chew and smoke at the same time !! lol

Someone at work tried lozenges to good success.....
tell him he can smoke if he pays up for the depreciation a smoker's car would normally encounter ;)

I think 20% of the cars value per cigarette would be reasoanable ;)
I just won't let him smoke its the end of that.
Completely unrelated but would you recommend me becoming a paid up member of sxoc. What are the benefits?
as a smoker who smokes in his car, i agree, if he wants to smoke in your car, and you dont want him too, then tell him to foooook off.
when i was travelling to dover (5hr trip min) if in my car i would smoke as normal, if in the other lads car (non-smoker) then i didnt smoke for the full journey?
doesnt really bother me if i know i cant have a fag :D
I smoke a fair bit, and I refuse to smoke in the car.... and I don't let anyone else smoke either... if they don't like it, they can walk (and normally do, because I'm a sh*t driver ;) )
I've seen those plastic ciggys....I want to stop....but I don't want to look a twat while doing it! :D
It's your car and they're your lungs so you're not being unreasonable. I won't even smoke in my own car and would never expect to smoke in someone elses car as my god given right. The second word you are searching for, next time they ask to smoke in your car, is "off". Take your pick of the first word.
I smoke but never in a car!
Although I might make an exception in your car Aitch! I might even smoulder!

Ok! desperately in need of a smoke and more drink now!
Ok! desperately in need of a smoke and more drink now!
Sorry babe - I didn't mean to drive you to drink!
You are in the right.
It is your car and you are in charge of it. What is more, if the smoke distracts you by getting in your eyes, then you can both end up dead.
At the end of the day, it is a matter of respect. Tell me no and if he won't take the hint, strip him naked, cover him in jam and stick him in a field of hungry bovines

NO! you don't drive me to drink but I definately want to smoke more :D

Same here. Well not in my car anyway. I wouldn't let anyone else smoke in there either. If someone else smokes in their own car then fair enough I'll have one.
I don't even smoke in my own house to be honest; it's got to the point where it just doesn't feel right having a ciggie indoors anywhere.
A guy at work has just quit (from 40 a day) using Allen Carr's book. Meant to be quite good so I'm going to give it a try.

I am a smoker and fully respect non-smokers. I will do my best not anoy anyone else with my habbit. I certainly would not expect to smoke in a non-smokers house or car. I say tell him to fook off and walk if he does not like it
Oh and Aitch, seeing as you are soon to become a country, do you mind if we smoke there?

Erm, allthiugh heavviiloyyy under the influeennnnnce I diiidn''t say what it was Ii wanted to smoke. A ccciiggar ppperhaps
Smokiing iin the car shoulld bbbe banned fuull stop
Workmate who takes me to meetings (sometimes 3 hour journeys) does not allow smoking in his car. Fair enough, provided he doesn't also control music, heater settings etc. or try to start conversations on the merits of smoking.
When I picked him up once for a 2hour journey, I said smoking was compulsory in my car.
We travel separately now.
