dunno why we cant just kill them and use there blood for good perposes though?
Good idea....if it's used just for that.
of course as soon as we are all carrying national ID cards with trackable chips in them.....
/cue do-gooding wingers.......
"You cant do that, its against their human rights"
:indiff:
Very good though, hope they put the plans into action.

we are all trackable anyway. well anyone who has a mobile phone is. Id cards with chips wouldn't make us suddenly watched by big brother cuz they've been doing it for ages anyway...
nectar card databases will tell you what kind of food a person eats, what they wash with, what they like to drink, then it'll tell you about the clothes they buy and how much money they earn, take out, direct debit, rent etc etc...
as for the child molesters, well there is something seriously wrong with their brains quite clearly so they should be chucked into insane asylums and locked away.. only they don't exist anymore. ridiculous world we live in.
I never said that we werent trackable - of course we are, credit cards, debit cards, store cards, bills and phones etc...all provide a way of tracking us, but not without a lot of digging and faffing around.
nat id cards will allow them a very easy way of tracking movements - and like the guy on that web site says "It's like a prison without walls" - whilst I have no objections to the system being used to catch the disgusting scum bags who abuse kids, I still don't like the fact we are moving closer and closer to a nanny state as the decades roll on.
The governments of the world have been moving towards controlling the populice more and more for ages now, it's only in the last decade that the technology has allowed them to get really good at it, and it's only with the advent of the new technology to come that every single little thing we do will be monitored - no doubt to "protect us".
It's like organised religion all over again, just a way to control the masses and make sure they do as their told.
Tracking them's fine for the police but of course the red-top/DM readership will want a web site where they can see little red dots walking around a map of their town so that they can get the lynch mob together and give them a proper seeing to.
More reactionary tabloid sh1te. Where are the stories about what causes sexual offending and how it can be treated rather than demonized? Can't have that, people might have to start thinking about it rather than just hating.
ID cards are about revenue generation and prevention of benefits fraud, got sweet FA to do with security or anti-terrorism.
Castration seems like a good treatment to me

The nanny state started a long time before '97 James - remember clunk-click???
As far as I'm concerned we're becoming overly reliant on inherently unreliable technology. The lawyer recently held by the FBI as suspect in the Madrid bombings is a prime example - and that was only about three days ago. Lie detectors and satellite tracking are all well and good but can you honestly see them working properly? Nevermind how much info the government has on you, it's the accuracy that matters.
The 'lowest-quote' IT tender policy employed by the government is inherently flawed when it comes to awarding projects of this size - just look at any recent government IT system. The civil service have so far this year screwed up my income tax (I'm on PAYE  ) my council tax bill and my rebate. So you'll forgive me if I'm not overly keen on providing them with bio-metric data that'll probably get 'mixed-up' with that of an escaped sociopath.

edit:- and re: the 'terrorism prevention' aspect - I think almost, if not all, of the bombers involved in the September the 11th attacks were legally entitled to be in the country and were travelling under their own name. With no prior convictions or reason for law enforcement officers to suspect them of terrorist activities. :indiff:
An interesting story about the closure of Wolvercote for anyone who wants to understand a bit more before passing judgement....
The closure last week of a unique clinic, hailed by ministers as providing the most effective sex offender treatment programme in Britain, has highlighted how public misconceptions about paedophiles can undermine efforts to reduce the threat they pose.

and another one on Lord Woolf backing down after his Boxing Day gaff about locking up the unconvicted....

Gaz is spot on
1987 - 1997 Govt. wrote off £7bn (yes, £7,000,000,000) of tax payers' money on failed IT projects.
Clearly then, they need to raise the tax on petrol so that can up that to about 10bn
An excellent idea, though not quite as good as executing the pervs in the first place.

I think all paedophiles should have peadophile tattoed across their forehead in clear letters. Dont think they'd be able to get any more victims then.
