Why the hell do they charge £40 for re-installation of a new dish when you move house. When all I have to do is cancel my subscription and get my other half to open up another account in her name for £1 installation plus £50 refer a friend vouchers :wack:

Just seems stupid that if i do it this way i actually get money back from them.

Could i just get hold of another minidish and install it myself at my new property and then plug my sky box into that then just tell sky of my new address??? Would it work??

its the same with mobile phones, they want a £35 upgrade fee for a new phone or you could get a free phone with free connection if you get one in the other halfs name :annoyed:

Why are new customers treated better than existing ones :annoyed:

Does anyone know where i can ge a cheap minidish from??

Just tell them that you will cancel the contract because of the £40 install fee. They will half it, say you are still not interested and it will sudently become free! Feck Sky money grabbing scum. They will bend over backward to keep you on a money leaching contract.

I told them that and they said 'ok cancel your contract'

I've found that Sky will just tell you to feck off if you aren't willing to pay. They outright refused to send us an engineer for free even though we threatened to (and in the end did) cancel the subscription.

Do it then

And if they do get rid of the chage as you say open it in your girlfriensd name. I would bother with the recomend a friend thing though. But if they offer yo money... take it! It not like they are short of a few quid

Well they said that the £40 was for the labour of the fitter. So maybe i should ask them for a free dish and i will install it myself.

Whats the bets they wont do that, lol

I told them that and they said 'ok cancel your contract'

normally they let you go through with the cancellation - then it gets sent onto another department who will in 7 days ring you back and see what they can offer for ur custom

Used to be when i worked there

the engineers are contracted in - not their own normally.

Play the loyal customer card (as long as u have been) and explain changing house you didn't realise it would be so much hassle with the above etc etc - If you can't benefit from being a loyal customer then another company might as well.

Go above the first person, Line manager, floor manager.

i got peeved with sky a few months ago, rang them up, £40 per month for crap telly, they tried to offer me all sorts of useless different packages, out of all the channels of crap, the only ones i wanted were on different packages, so either have them all, or not, they dont split the packages, so i cancelled, was expecting a phonecall from them offering me the full lot at a reduced price, call never came.

now im stuck with just a few crap channels! :)
